Paddle Boarding in Austin

Post Covid-19 Changes

We are going to go overboard on our sanitization standards and practices. In response to Covid-19 we added a life jacket wash station on top of our previous sanitizing method and intend to maintain it after the crisis is over. Additionally, we are committed to a more thorough scrub down of both the boats and the paddles…

Whether it be going to the gym every week in hopes to live a healthier life or spending time in the outdoors more to enjoy what’s around you or simply trying something new more often. This year we embark on a new journey as well, as many of you know we are temporarily closed. We are currently under a new start of our own, we have many changes coming as well as exciting new opportunities. Our old launch is currently under renovation and will remain closed until mid-March when we will re-open. We are excited as…

Birthday Blast!

Guest blog post by Sarah Stasica of Treat Party Boutique I decorated (and attended) my first paddleboarding birthday party at Austin Paddle Shack and it was so much fun! I had only paddleboarded once before and I was curious about how the kids would do out there. It was a seventh birthday so most kids were only six or seven and I was surprised at how well they all did. Some of the parents were a little bit nervous (myself included) before we got on the water but once we got out there it was seriously magical. I think my friend has started a new kid birthday party trend because all of the parents were talking about how perfect everything was once we were back on shore cutting into the cake. I created the party design and package and it was…

Check This Out!

While there is no shortage of nightlife in Austin, I’m often asked what activities there are to do during the day. One suggestion is to search for the street art that’s teeming around the city. While I could tell you where to find Austin’s Instagram famous murals, it’s more fun to randomly stumble upon these treasures. You just might discover a new favorite. Here are some streets to explore: 1st, 6th, South Congress, Lamar, and The Drag (on Guadalupe). Of course, the one place you must visit is the Hope Outdoor Gallery. Bring a can of spray paint with you as these cement walls invite you to embrace your inner graffiti artist. Be sure to visit soon, because the graffiti park is set to move to a new location later in 2019.
